ZF2.8 Power Pack Module 2013 vs 2014
« on: December 24, 2013, 05:40:38 PM »

Does somebody know why the FX 2014 Pack is different from a 2013 Pack at the Web-Store?

The 2013 and 2014 ZF2.8 module system is incompatible >:( So you can't use a 2014 module in a 2013 bike, and vice versa.

I'm curious why Zero chose that route. I assume there is a good reason .. but it smells like either terrible engineering or terrible management.

I have to imagine there is good reason for it. I mean, why create a modular platform that is immediately obsoleted?

That is a bummer.... one of the reasons that I bought a year end 2013 was that I saw the power tank was using the same battery pack so it gave me some assurance as a buyer that there was a future in that form factor of battery pack...  I would like to know what is different if anyone has the scoop.

I believe they use the same cells as the 2013. It's possible that it has been tweaked slightly.

Maybe the Power Tank option need more data to manage the correct function.

I am sorry nobody knows for sure! Do you believe Zero answer this question?

This is a question Aaron should be able to answer, I expect zero are having Christmas break. It should be answered when they return.
