2012 XU Top Case?

Has anyone successfully mounted a top case (I have a Givi E340) to a 2012 XU? I was thinking of taking the bike to a metal fabricating shop to see if they could work up something lightweight to bolt to the back of the bike which the Givi universal mount http://www.twistedthrottle.com/givi-z113c-monolock-topcase-adapter-plate-universal-model-for-flat-rear-luggage-racks could attach to.
