XU Range and Quick Charger
« on: May 16, 2013, 08:21:47 PM »

Zero says that the range, with one battery,  is 38 miles in the city and 24 miles on a highway at 55 mph.

Are there any XU owners who can tell me how close these numbers are to real world performance?

Also, could someone tell me what the dimensions and weight are of the quick charger.

Does anyone have a photo of an XU, or of an FX or MX, with only one battery on board? I'd like too see how it looks.

Thanks.

I believe the quick charger is the 84V Delta-Q QuiQ.
http://delta-q.com/product/quiq-charger

Delta-Q says 11 x 9.7 x 4.3”, < 11 lbs.

Here's a shot of a single battery module installed with the zippable storage compartment installed in the empty bay. Larger image here.

Thanks very much. That storage unit doesn't appear to be on Zero's accessory pages. Do you have any info on it? If one orders an XU with one battery, does it come with the bike or does it need to be ordered separately?

The item you see in the picture is our Zero Battery Module Storage Case (p/n 24-05045). It is custom made to fit into the battery module area on our Zero XU and FX motorcycles.  As a result of the custom nature and the limited supply, it's a more costly storage solution, but it does look good.

We are in the middle of a big update on our accessories and apparel marketing materials.  Sorry we didn't have this displayed easier for you to find.

Thanks Aaron,

Much appreciated.

I called Zero today (don't know if it was you with whom I spoke) and my call, on pressing 0, was picked up on the first ring. We talked about bike availability, and it turned out that the person who answered the phone knew about my request for info about shipping batteries and charger compatibility. While he answered those questions on the phone, he said that he wanted to answer them in writing, which I want to respect.

So far, very impressed with how Zero does business. There's apparently a bike in my area which I intend to buy tomorrow morning if it hasn't already been sold.

Cheers.
