I would expect the "Touch" to be less expensive than the phone version.

I would too, I don't know much about them apple-products though.. Just remember everything with the i-prefix comes with a premium price tag. Unless apple is your chosen path, consider (at least compare with) less expensive android devices. There are some rugged editions that can handle occasional downpour and some beating.

I can confirm app won't work on my Ainol Fire 7" (looks like nexus 7) running android 4.22, but works ok on my HP Touchpad 10" running android 4.12, my Fire has better specs than the Touchpad.

What is the maximum battery state of charge that you have seen on the app (for your bike)?  I do not think I have seen over 88% even though the dash's charge light is not blinking after being plugged in over night.

They used to say if you want your L-ion batteries to last you shouldn't charge them above 80% or let go below 20% SOC. Could it be that they have found closer to 90% is just as safe and you are seeing the true SOC of the battery rather than a "full" charge indication?
