LED headlight installation
« on: November 10, 2012, 04:09:56 AM »

I was the beneficiary of an LED headlight (identical to the one Zero offered for the 2011) that i intend to swap out on my bike. Does anyone know how to do that? Anyone actually swap out their 2011 headlight for the zero LED offering?

Hi
Did the trucklite LED. Needed to take the cover and all bits off. The trucklite is a very tight fit. Needed to bend the holder a bit to make it work. Guess the Zero one will drop in easier.

As it turned out, the installation was stone simple. The replacement came in the same exact housing that the existing light was in. Just removed and unplugged the old light, opened the back of the old light to get at the connector (replacement was just wires at the end that connects to the bike) and installed that on the new light. Tonight will be my first real world use of the new light, but in my brief test last evening it has a bunch of hot spots, but overall is significantly brighter and more white than the stock light. I will report more after gaining some experience.

great to hear that. easy install. the trucklite phase7 took a bit longer. was fiddely. The light works great and is very bright, much better light than the standard light. use the high beam flasher is as well much sharper and faster. use that a lot now if concerned that cars dont see me.

Hi
The 2012 does not have the standard 7" round headlight. So more difficult to get LED unless you can it over to 2011 /2010 type standard headlight.
Other ideas check with Harlan at Hollywood Electrics or call Zero
