ummm, hold the phone. why is there a gas cap?  Shocked  Might indicate this bike is based on an existing ICE bike.  The swingarm is made for the 21" wheel.  Keeps the travel linear I assume.  Need more info Cheesy

haha, well spotted, gas cap may be where the charge plug is hidden, as the "tank" doesnt look much like a fuel tank so its probly not from a ice bike. The swingarm does look pretty good, though im unsure hy they want such a big rear wheel, perhaps this is designed as more of a bridge between ice bike, and mountain bike. So i totaly agree, more info please Smiley

Since the Zero rep MUEV joined I have been thinking about the MX bike vs mountain bike thing (vs. "speeder bike") Cheesy.  Mountain bikes are starting to go to 29" wheels from 26".  The e-motor has plenty of torque to get a big wheel spinning.  Maybe they like the lower rolling resistance and higher inertia of the larger wheel.

These are great looking bikes! I am totally getting one. It is great to see more EV's coming in to the market. Keep supporting "green" vehicles and they will come down in price!

Yeah, I am going to assume because the bike on display in the background is the Quantya electric bike that this likely is not the ICE bike and is likely the KTM electric prototype.  I'll ride orange for life but I wonder how much more expensive to fix these are gonna be, not something you wanna be dumping on the track or in the bush I'll bet!

Just this week I spoke to my KTM dealer while my Superduke was there for service. The information I got was that KTM has not enough money in 2010 to start this project. Start of distribution is planned for 2011.

From the pics I assume:

1. There is a gas cap, because they used the ICE petrol tank, obviusly cut, to fix on it the actual fairing and seat
2. The rear wheel is a 19" or 18", but with a narrow rim a narrow tire
