Zero S 2012 - ZF 9 - Color Chooser - planing for paint job
« on: July 01, 2012, 04:39:20 AM »

Hi guys,

it's saturday night in germany, and instead of partying hard I am playing with the Gimp (like photoshop) to spend the last 24+ hours before my Zero delivery on monday morning :)

So - I am planning to get my new Zero S painted - and I was brainstorming over colors.
For everybody who wanna play with colors themselves - you can just download gimp (www.gimp.org) and use my prepared file, all parts are seperated as layers ... -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/u6re0ofgcatht3e/2012-Zero-Farben_chopped.xcf

Here are a few examples (I chopped the tail in Gimp and colored the bottom as well):

I somehow like all of them  ;D

what do you guys think?

Are you having the whole bike painted (torn down to the frame) or just the plastic parts?

I couldn't see the images you posted here - can you re-upload them?

Hi Baumisch,

hope you don't mind uploading your photo, but I think most guys won't install gimp for having a lock at your Photo. As a linux user gimp is standard on my pc.

I really know how you feel at the moment. I have produced a bunch of photos too, at the time I had to wait for my Zero.

Hi Baumisch,

I realized it is not possible to correct spelling if it is not your own thread / now I have to "look" ::) better!

Yes I can see your Photos now!

Are you able to paint plastic parts?

I know/heard there are special methods. I had once painted plastic by my self and it was not scratch-proofed. Looked ugly, soon!

Thumbs up for your gimp work. Shades and all the tiny part, I always struggle at that point.

The color make it look really fast.

Maybe we have a trip together, its silly to go with the e-bike on the trailer to have a ride but if you take in mind that my top-speed is not as high as yours it could be fun.

I am interested in the tail removal. How do you guys do it?? Is there a replacement kit for the light, plate holder and turn signals that will fit?
Please advise.

If you are looking for a complete kit or a nice finish solution for the Zero contact Harlan and Hollywood Electrics. What I did is more cobbled together and not final yet  ;)
