I now have 4,200 miles on my 2011 S. Anyone out there with more miles?

It's nice to have a vehicle where you like to see the miles go up right = P

How have the tires held up with 4200mi. and 8000mi. (if those are still original)? I have 3,000 on my 2011 S, but I bought it with 1,000 mi. so only 2,000 of those are mine. I bought it Jan 26th. My tires look good.

I have taken my bike to the track as well, and I will be changing my front tire pretty soon, I am sure I could get another 1,000 out of it, but I will be going to the track again soon, so I'm not going to push it. For an average rider with no track riding you could probably do 10,000 miles on a set, provided you don't do any burn outs, or run over any nails.

10,000 miles is good. Usually it's the rear tire that wears out first, but I notice the tread is deeper on my rear tire compared to the front. Maybe Zero planned for both tires to wear out at about the same time. With most motorcycles it's about 2 rear tire replacements for every 1 front tire. That slow acceleration from 0-30 mph would make a difference too.

I had done a retardedly huge burn out and ran over a nail on my rear so I replaced it at around 6 or 6500 miles before I went to the track. Mainly because of the flat spot I created doing the burn out.Had I not done those things, I would probably be OK still. I was really surprised with how long they are lasting.

I've just put 2,700th mile on my Zero yesterday. The rear tire thread is getting significantly smaller. Still not at thread wear marks but the tire won't last past 4,000 miles. I do no burnouts but I do ride 70+ mph on rough pavement of California 101.

Where do you ride? We should meet up some time. I'm in thousand oaks.

Also, you are on an S I presume, just wanted to clarify.

I am about 350 miles north of you -- I live in Mountain View, and I am usually riding to San Bruno (work) on 101.

2012 DS ZF9. I think DS knobbies wear out faster than the stock S tire would.

I'm still wondering how you guys did burnouts :)

I suppose once you got the tire spinning, say, on a slick surface, these bikes have enough power to maintain that state. But breaking it loose on dry pavement, at least on my DS, does not seem to be possible in stock configuration.

No biggie for me; I didn't buy it to do burnouts. I can beat your average car to the next light, and that's good enough.

Now 4,400 on my 2011 S and still on original tires. Looks like some wear, but still plenty of tread.  :)

Got 12,000 miles out of the front brakes and tires on a 2012 SZF9.  But the front pads had nothing left, and the rear tire had spots where it was wearing through.   Although I am very hard on the tires and brakes, so my guess is others could go possibly farther.
