lost temporary proof of registration
« on: April 24, 2012, 11:37:42 AM »

Loosely Zero related: How long does it take for the California DMV to mail the plates and a permanent proof of registration? I misplaced the dealer-provided temporary proof of registration of my Zero.

I received my license plate about a month after I bought my bike.  The "pink slip" was sent to my dealer a week later and they sent it to me a week after that (apparently their "inter-office" mail system is pretty slow   ::)  ).

Unless you do something really dumb in front of a cop, it is very unlikely you will ever need to show your temporary registration to anyone.  The only time I used mine was when I sent in a copy to the California EV rebaters with my application for the $900 free money, as proof that I had actually bought a 2012 Zero.
