According to an article by Jeremy C. Owens at mercurynews.com, SunPower will buy French solar company Tenesol for $165.4 million and offset the cost of the purchase by selling new stock to its majority stockholder and Tenesol's parent company, Total. Total already owns 60% of SunPower and the new stock will give it a 66% ownership in SunPower. Yesterday SunPower's stock closed at $6 a share, up 15 cents, on the news.
