Title: eMAX 1500 battery upgrade help needed
Post by: Wadias on December 01, 2017, 06:04:41 AM
Hi from UK,
Im new in electric scooters but managed to buy new with zero mileage scooter e-max 1500 which was stored in barn for 7 years. All great condition except frame which soon going for blast and powder coating. Its a 48V bike with 1500W hub motor, was hold eight 12V 22Ah batteries so 48V and 66Ah but I decided to change them to Liion cells 14 x 3.7V around 144Ah each so new system will be 58.8V and 144Ah. Watched loads of Youtoube videos and read some forums but sill have questions an hope to find some answers there...
1) do I must swap the condensers from original 63V to higher ones or leave as it is for 58.8V? On controller I have three large ones and two smaller. The others ane different, some 50V some 35V they stay untouched?
2) Some speed will increase with voltage change but for better boost I should add some solder on shunts? If I understand correct I have two of them in corner with black insulation, Im wright? Can I bent them together and add some good amount of solder on the both ends?
3) do I need change mosfets or keep original ones? by the markings
