Title: Making A cafe racer
Post by: jisyokputih on October 13, 2017, 02:08:00 AM
Hi

My name is aldo, 22yo and I am from Indonesia. I'm very interested on building an electric motorcycle.
I want to build electric motorcycle because i know it's fast and reliable and cool, but the majority of Indonesian people still don't realize that.
I want to show them how good EV can be.

I want to build my bike as powerfull as this guy's bike but using 18650 Lithium Ion Battery
https://youtu.be/Inela1cI30k?t=518

He's using :
- Motor : Motoenergy ME1507
 Current : 200Amps
 Power : 17kw
 http://www.motenergy.com/mepmbrmo.html

- Controller : Mobipus 72600
  72-90V 600Amps
  power : 42-54kw

- Battery : 90v 30Ah
battery detail: https://youtu.be/Inela1cI30k?t=518

What I want to use:
- Motor : Motoenergy ME1507
 Current : 200Amps
 Power : 17kw
 http://www.motenergy.com/mepmbrmo.html

- Controller : Mobipus 72600 ($1,100)
  72-90V 600Amps
  power : 42-54kw
 OR : Mobipus 72200 ($420)
  72-90v 200Amps
will the performance change significantly if i use the 200amp controller?

-Battery : LG HG2 3000mAh 3.6v 20A or sony vtc6 3000mAh 3.6v 15A or 30A(upto 80degree celcius)
 I think i will use 25s15p making it 90v 45Ah Battery pack.
but I'm confused with the Amps the controller is pulling, will this battery configuration is enough to supply the energy?

what i don't understand :
- how can a 17kw rated motor runs 54kw power as the guy mentioned at the video?

I'm really hope you guys could answer my questions since i don't know anyone who can answer these questions

Thanks before.

A motor rating is not a hard limit, it is a limit for continuous use.

People do run motors over rated capacity briefly without ill effects, but there's a risk to do it.
