Title: Vigo motorcycles
Post by: guppie70 on June 19, 2017, 07:15:31 PM
Hey guys,

Slightly off topic, but while enjoying some time off yesterday I found this project looked soo promising:
http://eco-motorcycles.co.uk/vigo (http://eco-motorcycles.co.uk/vigo)
This basically answers all the topics on my zero wish list:
- range
- fairing
- high-tech brakes, etc
- high-tech dash
- storage capacity
- etc.
all for a very decent price.
The project has been abandoned due to the fact that they could not find enough backers/capital to make it work - but do you agree that this looked promising? Should Zero try to build something like this?

I'm glad they didn't find enough backers. They would all have lost their money.

Instead of producing an electric motorcycle with superlative range and power, it is far more likely that it would not have those specifications.

Was just wondering if you agree that Zero should be making something like that?
Full fairing, high-tech, lot's of range, etc.

No question and I'm sure it's on their to do list.

I'm pretty darn certain that if anyone could make a e-bike with a 400 mile range, it would be Zero. Yes, of course Zero should be making something like that! But with current technology I don't think it's possible. Um, maybe unless top speed is 15 miles per hour ...

I have never really understood why there is not a full fairing option on the SR. Seems like a no-brainer to extend the range on the highway. It would give the SR an upgrade (also aesthetically) that does not require new or upgraded tech.

It has already been covered a lot on this forum. You'll find long topics on all of this stuff, including the Vigo concept. That's all it is, I'm afraid. Vapourware.
