Title: KTM E-Ride coming to the USA
Post by: Richard230 on June 03, 2017, 08:44:22 PM
I just received an email message from my (not-so-local) KTM/BMW dealer that KTM is importing the E-Ride to the US and it will be available for sale in their dealership soon. The list price is $ 8,299 USD.  Too bad that the dealership is located about three times further than the distance of the E-Ride's maximum range at freeway speeds.

It's true!! KTM has announced that the Freeride E-XC will be available on a limited basis sometime this summer (July/August). We have our order in for the E-XC and a technician ready to head to California for the required training in July. It sounds like the list of dealers that are accepted into the pilot program will be announced June 15th, we will be taking deposits as soon as we get confirmation of delivery and number of bikes that we are allocated. This bike should be a great compliment to the Alta Redshift MX which is selling like hotcakes in Colorado.

Hey Everyone,

It is official! Our tech is heading out to KTM next week for training on the Freeride E and bikes will be shipping shortly after. We have a couple of deposits already but still have some available if anyone is interested in getting one. The bikes will be discounted significantly as part of the pilot program:

KTM Freeride E-XC $8,299 + $89 + applicable tax for title (Normal MSRP $15,999)

We do not charge any dealer setup or handling fees so this is this is the real out the door price. Let me know if you are interested or would like more info.

That's exciting.  I wish I could get a test ride on one of these.  I just might be in the market for a new bike, probably a dual sport type. I still question the small battery capacity that has not been increased yet with any option packages.  The competition has settled in on a larger capacity.  I thought KTM did say at some point the bikes might have some options.  As it is, it looks like it would be great for single track trails.

A good review would go a long way to drumming up interest, especially if it comes from someone familiar with Zero FX performance.

One interesting note from the pictures... it looks like they come stock with the rear brake on the left handlebar, and no foot levers.
