for a Zero, what tools should be in your toolpack?
for starters, a *short* ratcheting #2 phillips so you can take off the front plastics. metric hex bits for that, or an allen wrench set. we don't need many wrenches- maybe just a crescent wrench or two? how are the co2 cartridges for adding air pressure? is fixing a flat a reasonable thing for commuters to do or is that more of an adventure / touring kind of thing? My commutes are 20-100 miles, never too far from urban areas. I have the RV/motorcycle version of AAA.

kind of looks like a good pack but at $75 i think i'd pick up a roll and put in tools I already own. Any recommendations?

I just replied on there myself.
I HATE CO2 cartridge based inflators. I keep a palm sized air compressor with me. Its the exact same air compressor that you can buy at walmart, I just take it out of the case.
Compressor
tire plugs
cement
T-handle reamer and plug tool
pliers
thats all for just flats.
after that, it depends on the bike and the ride.
for the FXS, Id just carry a credit card... because I am not too far from home to get towed.

You might want to look into AMA membership, because they include a free towing service. I used it when I had a wiring harness problem in my SR to get the bike to the dealer for free.

The tool kit you can get from Zero (made by Cruz) lists the tools. That should give you a basic idea.
