I stopped by the Motorcycle Mall near me in NJ to look at leather jackets and they carry Victory bikes. Was happy to see a Victory Empulse greet me immediately as I walked in the front door.
However when I asked a salesman about it he said it gets 40 miles to a charge. I didn't have a chance to ask where he got that (kid)information but another salesman confirmed that they were instructed that the range of a 10.4 kWh Empulse is 40 miles. Anybody else hear about such misinformation going on somewhere that Empulses are sold?

Doesn't help that Victory doesn't even publish that information on their website. The 2014 Empulse was rated at 58 miles at 70 mph, and the Victory has 11% more capacity...

At 70-75 mph 40 miles is actually pretty close in my experience. Closer to 70 on backroads or stop and go. So even at 10% increase, I think 50 miles would be the realistic highway range.

So when people ask what is the range of your Empulse you say "40 miles" without specifying speed or any other factor?
My plan is to go back and help them explain better to their customers, so I am hoping for accurate information from Brammo owners' experiences.

I'm a little surprised/disappointed at that. The official rating for the 2013 Empulse was 56 miles at a constant 70 mph, upgraded to 58 miles for 2014. Hills, headwinds, heavier riders, colder temperatures will all decrease that somewhat, but still seems low..

I don't ride an Empulse so all I'm really looking for are some ballpark numbers from Empulse owners. I can estimate using the efficiencies I get on my Zero, but would rather talk with them about results from people who ride that bike.

1:1 at 100kmh . I'm riding 40km for 50% by beating the crap out of it in a 2 days commute. Adrenaline keeps warm! The slower the better but who loves it?

Not sure I follow. See my earlier post. Highways are range killers, city will get you 70-80 miles pretty comfortably, everything else is somewhere inbetween. When I towed it down to the Smokies and rode it hard in the twisties, I could exect about 50 miles realistically.

My normal mixed use riding gets about 80 miles of range. This is with me avoiding the interstate and speeds are normally under 60mph.
I have only seen a range of 120 once which was the only time I spent all day in heavy city traffic.
A spirited canyon run to the Rock Store and back results in about 70 miles of range, sticking to the speed limit yields about 75 miles or range.
I normally avoid the interstate when I can, but the published 58 miles seemed to be accurate.
These distances are calculated to 0% remaining charge as I don't like to actually get below about 10% when avoidable.
I also live in a very EV friendly climate and ride a 2014 Empulse R.
Cold humid air along the coast seems to hurt my range more than slightly higher speeds inland at higher elevations. This is consistent with my electric car as well as the bike.

I usually get about 100 miles guesstimated for my commute, which is mostly during busy times and <50mph. When I go over that, I usually get at least 65-75 miles range. Most of the time I'm in sport, and some of that is spirited riding. Only once did I get below 60miles range, but I'm also not a racer that drags knee.

My answer to the range question for the 2013 Empulse R is "50 to 60 highway miles." Most people (non-EV owners) don't ask followup range questions, but I do try to mention that it's plenty for a fun daily commute, and that speed affects range.
