Title: FX Handguards?
Post by: kphonik on April 29, 2015, 04:36:03 AM
Anyone have insight on why the FX handguards on the Zero site are only listed for 2014? Wondering what I'll do for guards on my 2015.

thanks!

I have the powermadd brand handguards on mine. They make some that match the styling of the FX well and have a mat black finish.

Those look great! Do they have a metal backbone?

I'm not sure of all the mounting options but I have the metal mounts that comes straight off the handle bar. Not the wrap around 2 point mounts. The handguards and mounts are sold separately. The star series guards have optional wrap mounts. http://issuu.com/powermadd/docs/powermadd2015_web/0 (http://issuu.com/powermadd/docs/powermadd2015_web/0)

New design for 2015 was recently released.  The larger master cylinder and the new throttles made the older version difficult to install.

What about using Acerbis hand Guards?  Is the handlebar different than regular dual sports?

I mounted some Acerbis with lights built in to make the bike more visible. They mount in the end of the bars only so they are good for light protection from small stuff and wind, not trees.

Are you using the wrap around handguard made of steel that goes inside the handlebar end?  That's what I have on my DRZ and they've been very sturdy, especially when you drop the bike.
