Here is a recall announcement for the Brammo Empulse regarding a bad breather design for the transmission that can result in oil leaks:

I've made a wiki page for the Zero recall entries:

It's really not useful without it, and we should really unpin it if it's not useful.

Looks like a new recall for 2017 Zero bikes.  Turn signal issues have come up on the forums so it's good to see this is getting taken care of.  I haven't noticed this problem myself.

No Warning of Turn Signal Lamp Failure/FMVSS 108
If motorcycle is operated without knowing that a turn signal is not working, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Summary
Zero Motorcycles Inc. (Zero) is recalling certain 2017 S ZF6.5, S ZF13.0, DSP ZF13.0, and SR ZF13.0 motorcycles. In the event that a turn signal stops working, the turn signal flasher may not change its flash rate to alert the operator. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Remedy
Zero will notify owners and dealers will test the motorcycle’s flasher, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before July 28, 2017. Owners may contact Zero customer service at 1-888-841-8085. Zero’s number for the recall is SV-ZMC-017-369.

Repost (http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=7891.msg66397#msg66397) from the Zero subforum. Zero is recalling all 2012 Zero S, Zero DS and Zero DSP models due to a potential battery issue where it might catch fire. This is a **BUYBACK** recall.

Hi Electric Motorcycle Forum,

As a community of Zero motorcycle owners, we want you to be among the first to know about a recall on certain 2012 motorcycles that NHTSA officially published today. The recall only affects model year 2012 Zero S, Zero DS and Zero DSP models. The official recall notice is posted here:
https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=18V215

If you own a Zero that is any model year or model aside from the 2012 Zero S, Zero DS and Zero DSP models, then you will not be affected by this recall.  If you do own one of these affected models, and we have your info on file, then you should be receiving an official letter from us. We are coordinating with NHTSA on finalizing the official customer notification letter and will mail these no later than April 30. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email us in North America at 2012-recall-na@zeromotorcycles.com or in Europe at 2012-recall-eu@zeromotorcycles.com. We appreciate your commitment to Zero over the last 11 years of riding. Specific to our owners of 2012 Zero S, DS and DSP models, you were among the earliest adopters of our motorcycles and are a critical part of the electric motorcycle movement.  We remain committed to providing the best service possible to our consumers and are working to make the recall process as simple and straightforward for you as possible.

Sincerely,

Chris Langlois
Zero Motorcycles Customer Experience Team

Looks like I picked the best year to buy my Zero!
The best year to buy an electric bike will be well after we're both dead!
