Title: Adaptable front brake pads
Post by: Le Z Turbo on February 01, 2014, 01:29:59 AM
My shop is a long way from home here in France and I'd like to order on internet some new front brake pads. On one post it was said that the pads on 2013's are similar to the ones of another motorcyle, but never which one. Does someone have this information for me to order some ?
Have a great week end
Laurent

Those look like they will work :) 3rd on the list of 8.3mm too so you didn't have to search too long I take it :D

And the CL-Brake 2256 won't fit, they are too long and wide compare to the original !!! Are you sure the 2012 and 2013 DS have the same front brake ? Mine are 95mm long and I also checked the EBC FA142 and they seem also as the CL-Brake, too big !

The 2012 bikes used Hayes brake calipers (and I have no idea where you get pads for those brakes).  I believe that the 2013 Zeros use Nissan brake calipers, for which no doubt, it will be much easier to locate brake pads that fit those calipers.

Well, my spellchecker didn't catch that.   ::)

So I found the perfect match. I took some pads we can find in France the CL-brake ones (ex Carbone Lorraine). The ref is 2300
Second picture: don't forget the anti-noise plate behind one of the pad !!!
Third picture: I had to put out some brake fluid for the pad to retract propely, the circuit was a little overfilled

And be aware not to use the older 2012 model pads, they won't fit !!!

Any idea if these are identical to the FX calipers?  (2013)  I'm quickly wearing through my factory pads and hoping to upgrade to EBC HH or the like.  Service guys at HQ didn't seem to know what would fit other than the originals.

Well you need to take off the original brake pads of your FX and then on the EBC web catalogue you will find (after having turn many pages !) a drawing of all brake pads with reference. I've done that to find mine !

We have the HH pads in stock for the front pads of the 2013/14 bikes.  I'm not in the shop at the moment so I can't check, but the EBC number is EPFA185HH if I remember correctly.  Give us a call and we'd be happy to take your order over the phone.

Hello Harlan,
I'm changing again my front brake pads and both tires at the same time on my DS.
I missed your previous message so I thank you for the EBC ref with delay ! It's exactly the good ref for the best braking power pads available.
