Dual headlights, new shocks and custom gauge cluster.

Hope the price doesn't change much in the upward direction, down would be better. (Dream on)

Can't wait till the full specs are revealed.

Nice find.
Seems to tally with what little I've heard in regard to a re-design on the headlight and instrument panel (positioning?)
It was always hard to adjust the 2012-2013 models instrument panel to a comfortable angle as the cable interfered with the headlamp without modifications, so it seems like this little design flaw might be solved in the 2014 models...

I'm more curious to see what the on-board charging options are, especially if the 15kWh rumor is true.

Hope the larger battery capacity doesn't change the weight much. 5.7 -> 15 is quite a jump.

I think, at a guess, the 15 kWh will probably only be on the S & DS models.
Hopefully the instrument panel changes will be across the range.

Dual headlights would be OK, I guess, if they are mounted vertically.  Mounted horizontally, they would increase drag. Personally, I am happy with just one headlight - especially as I don't ride much at night. Maybe those British-speaking managers at Zero are trying to make it look like a Triumph speed/street triple.   ::)

I'll be happy with a larger battery and the largest on-board 120v charger they can supply.  (There are lots of Level 2 outlets around here - just none where I want to stop for any length of time.)

I found a bigger version of the 2014 FX photo:

Looks like a nicer seat on the new FX.

So are two little headlights better than one?  Or will these two headlights be LEDs?   :)

That is fantastic aggressive styling that serves the explosive nature of the FX well.

Based on the photo I'm leaning towards waiting for the 2014 FX.

Hmmmmm ...  a few differences that I can spot:

-   The seat is more sculpted
-   The head lights and front "windshield" as already pointed out
-   The battery box numbers are different but I can't read them
(if only they read 15.7, but likely 5.7 again)
-  The fork tubes are no longer golden.... could they be .... SHOWA??  or something better than Fast Ace??

Higher quality suspension would be the biggest improvement unless those little battery numbers are larger than last years.

I'll keep the single light on my FX, but that seat looks nicer.  Not that I mind the current one, and with not much more than an hour ride time, I don't foresee that being a concern.  Lower is probably better for a lot of people though, and for CG.

Shocks are bigger and a custom gauge cluster too. I can see other small physical changes too.

But I'm guess the the specs are pretty close to 2013 in terms of battery, performance  and such.

Something look strange: doesn't the front fender limit the headlight aperture ? it seems you will only have the upper lighting passing the fender, no down onto the road lighting ?

My guess is that the two lights are far enough apart to iluminate everything except right where the wheel is, by being above and off each side of the fender.

Don't expect any battery changes for the FX.

New headlights look nice.

All in all a lot of little refinements to the FX:

- option for passenger pegs
- improvements to the frame and swing arm
- new instrument cluster
- new suspension
- new seat
- 5 year batt warranty
- new integrated mode switch on handlebar
- dual headlights and improved styling
- lower seat height

Lots of little improvements add up to a lot better bike likely.

Now that the full specs are out, yes the improved suspension would definitely be nice (especially as I ride trails).  The cluster looks nice but I don't care too much about that, nor are passengers welcome on my FX.  Three modes would be good, especially if they were all tunable!  All in all, no regrets, but I'll probably find myself modifying the suspension some day after my warranty is less than a week old.
